Dr. Leah Wulforst DVM
Dr. Leah Wulforst was born and raised in Oyster Bay, NY. A small historic town on the water, but also a short train ride from New York City. She was able to help at the family farm stand, go to beach on the weekends, snowboard upstate, or go visit the Museum of Natural History. After starting a family, they wanted to slow down, but still wanted diversity. So they decided to move back to Knoxville. "South Knoxville has changed so much since we lived here over 10 years ago, but we are so excited to be part of the community and help those around us."
As with any medical field, growth is inevitable, but with science, some of the advancements are unforeseen. I anticipate that the future of veterinary medicine will shift away from vaccines, and concentrate more on the treatment, diagnosis, and prevention of disease. I would like to integrate both traditional medicine with some natural options as well. We can provide some of those services, discuss options, or recommend referral for further care. In my opinion, being honest and open are of utmost important. The client and the doctor need to discuss all possible options and outcomes to make the best educated decision regarding the care of their pet.
